I (emphasize, I) feel it very similar to a Parker guitar. she really feels different from most of the GC's wall guitars. Maybe it's because of the Bigsby, or it being a slab of wood but it kinda feels the whole guitar resonates when played (and no, there are no loose screws making this effect). The first things i noticed even before plugging it was: weight, comfort and sustain. maybe on a Fender amp it would sound different, hey, i guess that happens on every guitar, right? I play it directly into a Vox 15R practice amp and i'm sure that this helps a lot in my perception of tone.

you could really fool somebody in it being a single coil.

see, in between.Īnd as for tone, to me it's something in between a single coil and a humbucker. Well, to my ears this is an "in-between" guitar among the F and G guitar names.Īs lots of Corvette users claim (i have no personal experience with F's nor G's), the neck feels exactly like a croos between those two brands. The neck on this guitar is made from a variety of cedar. Because the carbon fiber supports the string tension, they can use woods that wouldn't typically be able to deal with the pressure. There is a thin black layer visible on the sides under the fretboard and also on the back of the headstock (that's the second picture). The neck is built around a carbon fiber frame. To me, they sound more like humbuckers with a little more snarl. The Dimarzios are humbuckers that have been designed to sound like P-90s. I bought this on Ebay about three years ago. Modulus only makes basses now so they're pretty rare. How rare is this? Where did you get your hands on this? Where do those DiMarzios fall in the p'up spectrum.you call 'em P90's, but they have double poles? What's the body? Balance issues? Why does the neck look hybrid? Care to send it to me for a 6 month "sabbatical" of sorts. You may have covered this ground before.but what's the story on that guitar? Modulus only advertises basses. Maybe it's because they took too much wood away at the horns.ĮDIT: Carvin is blocking image hosting, so you'll have to go to their website to see this model: The new Carvin Double Cut California Carver Tops don't grab me like the others, however. That brings me to the other end of the cost spectrum, PRS. Wow, such a beauty, and for very low bones. Here's the one that got me thinking about this style. I'm not talking about Strat's and super strat's in this case, but more the carved, symmetric shapes. While I'll always love the Les Paul and the many similar shaped copies, there's something kinda cool about double cut solid bodied electrics.
